Whether you’re new to cycling or in search of the ultimate challenge, join Neenan Cycling and Exodus Travels for the one of our fantastic road trips. All of our rides are carefully designed with relaxing, low traffic riding in mind. Full vehicle support on all of our trips allows us to head straight to the best cycling routes, as well as giving you the flexibility to ride as and when you want to. The relatively smooth surface allows us to cover good distances, so a road trip is a great way to discover an entire country and interact with the locals en route.
The majority of our trips are guided adult group holidays. Groups are small in size, with an average of 11-12 people, helping to maintain the integrity of the more remote places on our itineraries. Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers – with couples, singles and friends all joining in together. Just over half our clients are female and although the average age is 43, we usually have many younger and older clients in every group. For those not travelling with a partner or friend(s), all these holiday departures are available to single travellers. Travelling on your own is not only possible, it’s encouraged and very much a feature of our guided group holidays. Almost half our clients travel this way.
Small guided group holidays provide a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your travel experiences with. You won’t be expected to pay a supplement as we will room you with a fellow traveller of the same sex, and occasionally you may end up with your own room. If you prefer, guaranteed single accommodation is available on most trips at a very reasonable extra charge
On the majority of our cycling trips, a support vehicle accompanies the riders. These carry tools and spares, refreshments, your luggage and even (on occasion) yourself. If there is a high level of vehicle support you can confidently book a certain grade in the knowledge that there is back-up should you get tired. Equally this means that friends or couples of different fitness levels can still enjoy the same trip together.
If you want to push yourself, we can provide the challenge, but most of our cycling holidays are exactly that – holidays.
The Activity Level dial (shown on each page) offers an immediate illustration of just how challenging the trip will be. Ranging from Leisurely to Tough, the grading takes into account the daily cycling distances and terrain, the level of vehicle support, average altitude and height gain and loss, temperature range and likely weather conditions, road/trail conditions, as well as any technical riding skill required. We also consider the number of cycling days as there can be a cumulative affect from tiredness on a longer trip and the type of accommodation used, as this can also influence your day to day recovery.
Clearly conditions for a particular cycling holiday may vary from one month to the next. It is not practical for us to give grades for each individual departure, but you may like to take this into account before choosing a specific departure date.
