For those who don’t want the hassle of bringing your own bike we also have a local hire company who supply a full range of bikes fitted to your size and delivered to your accommodation. And we can provide airport transfers if required.

So all that’s left for you to do is explore the many routes available locally and decide where to eat each night!

There is a wide variety of routes to suit everyone. The rolling coast road will take you to Gibraltar and Cadiz, turn inland and there are lots of climbs of varying difficulty including climbs that have featured in the Vuelta Espana.

We have selected a location on the south coast of Spain, served by Malaga airport which makes it easily accessible. Both Aer Lingus and Ryanair have daily flights from Dublin all year and there are also services from Cork and Belfast and many UK and European airports.

The training base is located just 1 hour drive from Malaga airport and we can provide private transfers for you and your group.

A perfect base for cyclists and triathletes, the rolling coast road is suitable for all abilities and at various points you can turn inland where the roads climb into the mountains. Routes can be chosen by distance and levels of climbing to suit your needs. Along the coast and into the mountains you’ll find small villages and towns if you want coffee or lunch stops.

San Luis de Sabinillas, where the Hotel Dona Luisa is located, is a beach-front town belonging to the municipality of Manilva, Malaga. It lies 97km from Malaga Airport and 35km from Gibraltar.

Hotel Dona Luisa:

Located right on the promenade, in front of the beach and on the main street of San Luis de Sabinillas. The hotel is located 300 meters from the marina and La Duquesa golf course, 90kms from Malaga, 30kms from Marbella and 15kms from Gibraltar.

In the hotel’s newly opened cafe you can enjoy a varied breakfast with a wide selection of teas, coffees and liqueurs. You can also enjoy the terrace on the promenade.

The hotel has 28 fully equipped rooms, bathroom with a hair dryer, telephone, television, air conditioning, fridge, free wifi and most with large terraces overlooking the sea.

Activity Levels


Activity Levels range from Leisurely to Tough, the grading takes into account the daily cycling distances and terrain, as well as any technical riding skill required. We also consider the number of cycling days as there can be a cumulative affect from tiredness on a longer trip and the type of accommodation used, as this can also influence your day to day recovery.

Activity level 1 - Leisurely Activity level 1: Leisurely

If you can ride a bike and enjoy gentle exercise, these are an ideal introduction to a cycling holiday. No routes are entirely flat, so expect some short climbs and descents. Maximum daily height gain is approximately 250 metres and daily distances rarely exceed 50kms (32 miles), any longer days are often optional.


Activity level 3 - Moderate Activity level 3: Moderate

Most people who enjoy a weekend riding at home will enjoy a Moderate trip. You need to be in good health and reasonably fit. Ideal for occasional cyclists, or as a more relaxed trip for fitter riders. Moderate off-road trips require no previous experience. Distances rarely exceed 70kms (43 miles) per day.


Activity level 5 - Challenging Activity level 5: Challenging

For any ride at this level, fitness is important. Challenging trips require confidence in your ability and physical condition. They are equivalent to an extended period of cycling at home. Previous mountain biking experience is essential for Challenging off road trips as they will involve some technical riding.


Activity level 7 - Tough Activity level 7: Tough

Previous experience of the cycling style or surface is a must as these routes have long cycling days and tougher terrain on both road and off road trips. You need complete confidence in your fitness and technical ability to cope with difficult or steep terrain, rough surfaces and longer distances. Ideal for those seeking a challenge!


Split grades

In order to provide more accuracy, where a trip falls between two grades we use an intermediate or ‘split’ grade, for example 2: Leisurely/Moderate.
